Hey, I'm new on this forum. Lot's of usefull info, thanks.
Regarding G50.

I read few reports about it, but as I understand that was old revisioni. IT's a new one and they rediced cpu speed and now it's only 1 320g drive, although 7200 rpm.
So, how did it change things? Did problem with cooling and short battery life went away?
P.S. Generally, how much is 6m cache is better then 3?
Oh, and yes, no more orange?

I don't think anything fundamental has changed, just those few components. So that does not help with the poor battery life. As for cooling, I don't think there has ever been a problem. There was enough headroom that Asus could stick in the 9800GS in place of the original 9700GT, and some members of this forum have flashed their 9800GS to 9800GTS with the GTS voltages without any heat issues.
Yeah, no orange. The orange colour is single-handedly responsible for getting kids to come running over and check out my notebookThey did turn the palmrest silver too, so now it looks too silver on the inside, not enough contrast. But I'd still stick with my A1's colour scheme as the lesser of two evils since the X2 has that crazy design on the lid.
Whoa!! I just zoomed in on the pictures and it looks like the GPU sticker on the palmrest says 9700M GT?!? Am I blind, or did they put the wrong sticker? At least they got rid of the Edward Carnby sticker. -
This is Exactly the Same Model as the one sold at best Buy except for the 9700M Graphics card and the processor.

The best buy card has 2.2ghz cpu and a 9800 M Graphics card. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..

Actually they still sell the one like the original

I think I'm gonna go with it
Actually never mind, I didn't see those A1 models. I thought there aren't any like that anymore. -
Doh! I didn't notice it was a G50V and not a G50Vt. I thought the G50V was not sold any more.
If you are a big gamer, I would probably go for the Vt instead because you get the better graphics card....although it costs an extra $150.
