Hey, guys this is my first post with a request for help. I recently had my asus g1s die on and had to send it in for repairs and instead got the asus g50vt-x1 that they offered me. I just got it 12 hours ago which is great, but for some reason I just cannot connect to the wireless internet(I mean I can't see any available wireless connections). I tried the f2+fn but that didn't help and I let a friend and my bro try to get it to work but they don't seem to know how to get it to work either. Please help and thanks![]()

Hows the gateway end of your setup? Is your router and modem up and running? Can you verify with another computer?

I'm not sure what you mean by gateway end of the setup, but the modem is working fine since my bro and my friend have theirs connected to wireless.

There is probably a physical switch on the laptop that toggles wireless on and off.
Check it -
I am having the same problme with my G50VT-X5.
The physical switchs just says WLAN OFF no matter which way I push it and the Fn+F2 does the same. -
Thanks I got it, TevashSzat. Dspr 02, turn the switch on then restart your computer. I had the same thing happen to me the switch was on but the wireless lan kept going off so I just restarted and everything is great now. Hope it helps.

There are newer Drivers for the Intel WIfi Link 5100 that neither Windows, or the driver update properties window will detect.
I had to download them, and install them manually, and it fixed my problems completely. Apparently, the wireless adapter just didn't get along with some routers.

I downloaded and installed mine off of Intel's site.
I fixed it somehow, do not know how but it did not involve restarting. I am ordering a Intel WiFi Link 5300AGN later today.
Thanks for the help there shinsengumi!
