Asus G50vt-x2 webcam question

Hi, I was wondering isn't there supposed to be plastic cover to protect the web cam area around silver round plastic webcam area like macbook?

recently I've got a repair service and I noticed that the round hole area where webcam located isn't covered so....

If someone has same unit, could you guys tell me?

I'm kind worried about spilled and dust build up go through that area ....

 

There is a tiny little bit of plastic on the sensor assembly itself but there are several variations in the surface going in and the entire thing does not have a plastic cover as you may see on other cameras.

Not the best solution as you might wish to use something of the micro fiber variety but I have been cleaning the 2 mp camera on my phone with a q-tip for the past 3 years. Its a little small to try a lens pen on.

 

so If I put a pencil on the round area on the webcam located it supposed to just go through it?

Shouldnt go very far. The X2 should be the same as the X5 but maybe not as the high res screens might have a slightly different bezel. On the X5 you have the silverish wide plastic bezel which dips down around the camera. It dips down again just around the silver ring which comes up a tiny bit. The center of the silver ring dips down further leading to the sensor assembly which by the feel of my finger nail is not an even surface I think its flat around the edge with a tiny buldge in the center.
