Hey all
I need a gaming laptop that can play as many games like RCT3 and the sims 2 and 3 and some more intense games. My budget is 1500 USD and I am looking at the G51VX any opinions or reccomendations.

The G51VX-RX05 is at best buy for $1050.

It has gotten pretty good scores it just runs hot. The G51VX-A1 is $1639. A little out of your price range but comes with a better processor (Quad core), dual HDD's and a higher res screen.

If those are around the most intense games you are going to play, the G51VX-RX05 from Best Buy is going to be more than what you're looking for, it will run them absolutely no problem at max settings, and give you the option of more graphically intensive games if you ever decide to pick them up, and it'll save you a good few hundred dollars to spend on some accessories or a protection plan, or a nice 1080 external monitor, or to spend on whatever else you want to.

You could also look at getting a G50VT-X5. That has more than enough power for those types of games, and it is ~300$ cheaper than the G51VX-RX05.

It's new, but we can make educated guesses.
I'm running an X9100 processor, which has a TDP of 44. The Q9000 has a TDP of 45 watts. In my notebook, I've upgraded so I have a second 320GB @ 7200rpm hard drive. During games like Crysis--where I overclock the GPU and undervolt/overclock the CPU--I might hit 93 for the video card and around 72 for both cores of the CPU. Monitor and HDDs are sitting very cool.
So the heating issues are not bad at all. -
Im not only playing the sims 3, ect but also oblivian, Call of duty and maybe crysis I can stretch my budget a little to. I am also now looking into the gateway P-series gaming laptops. Are any of those better?

Depends on the Gateway. If you have a specific model in mind, we could easily compare.
As far as I know, though, the P-series are 17-inchers, right? Those things are big and heavy. Granted, the "15-inch" G51 is almost as big as some other 17-inchers, but they are definitely lighter.
I do hear Gateway is making a computer that is equiped with a GTX 260m, but I think it's only in Japan at the moment. -
