Hey guys. I've been having a problem with my screen recently and am in need of advice. Recently when i put my computer into sleep mode, then come open it back up, it screws up. When i open it up i press a key to make it come out of sleep mode. I can here the cd drive starting up like it normally does after you press a key to wake it up, but the screen doesn't show up. It is still black. I can see the mouse moving around on the screen when i move it, but the screen itself stays black. I have try pressing keys just in case it wasn't awake- nothing. I have tried closing the screen and putting it into sleep again but it still comes up with a black screen. After enough trying i eventually resort to holding the power button to restart it. It is a pain to do. Can anyone help with this? any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem with my Alienware m9750. I can't get my screen to come on at all after it goes to sleep. It sounds like the drives are spinning up, or at least the fans come on, but that's about it. I have to hold the power button after the hard drive light quits flashing.

Happen to me all the time with my U6V with NV 9300M GS, that's the problem with GeForce driver and Windows vgaport.sys, one trick worked for me is when I tried to wake the laptop from sleep mode and got a black screen, I simply close the lid and open it the screen will come back.

I tried that a bunch of times, doesn't work. It doesn't even go back into windows as far as I can tell. It's not just the screen. If I press the keystrokes to reboot windows it does nothing.
