It's a hot, powerful gaming computer.

Ask for the CPU, GPU. It could have a quad, and should come with the GTX 260M.

For 500 it's a steal. But you NEED to use it to make sure this guy was not screwing around, like overclocking. Even just a bad owner who uses his/her laptop on something like a bed. Heat (and this is a hot computer) could mess up the video card, so I would ask to boot it up and look around with fumark or something to check to artifacts. Maybe I'm paranoid but with a machine like the G60 it could have problems he's hoping you won't notice.

But if you check it should be a great buy. Just don't expect to play crysis or metro 2033 or STALKER on max. But for 500 bucks you have more than enough to play all games on respectable settings.

G60jx will not play metro 2033 at anything playable any higher than medium settings ;) but it is still fun :D

    Here is the craigslist link

Here are the specs he told me

    "RAM: 4 GB DDR2 1066
    CPU: Core2Duo 2.6 GHz
    Hard Drive: 500 GB, solo.
    GPU: Nvidia 260 GTX.
No scratches and no dead pixels. I rarely use it, you probably can see my fingerprints on my laptop but that's it. it's quite clean."

I could play metro 2033 on very high, resolution 1024*786, minimal FPS issues.

Go down to 800*600 and it's smooth as butter.

To me, the resolution is not a huge issue when the graphics are this good. It looks great considering its a damn laptop that I can carry around, Metro is a game that challenges many expensive tower-PCs.

Id buy it it, just make sure to test it.

Are you buying more for games, or for the CPU? You can get a much better CPU if you buy something else, but the GPU for 500 is great.

As long as the warranty is transferable, it seems like a safe bet.

Craigslist can be an excellent source for just about anything.

For something technical (computer, laptop, cell phone, etc), I would prefer to meet up with the seller to test the item (at least a basic once over) before handing over cash.

Remember...... it can be next to impossible to get a refund on Craigslist.
