i just found out that asus have a new g60vx model, i dont know if someone has covered this but im going to anyway.
the g60vx now has dd3 ram and bluray combo drive, the only letdown that i read is that it has a 1tb hard drive tats 5400 rpm but im sure this can be updated.

No, this means that the CHIPSET in the G60Vx supports SLI. A useful analogy would be "XYZ Tires are certified for Ferraris". Doesn't mean any car with XYZ tires is a Ferrari.

I wonder how much the new G60Vx will cost compared to the G51Vx-A1.

I wanted to wait for the G60 but couldn't hold out. Also I didn't know if it would have a 1080p screen.

I've seen that site before while deciding on my G51, are you sure its accurate?

Oh I didn't see that arcticle... Man I'm really not a fan of the white asus lid kind of a deal breaker for me and the price on that one? $2500! Not sure what I believe there anyway look at the poor grammer. " 4 GB DDR3 RAM is a factor that make this a more faster laptop computer than laptop that use DDR2 " Haha who wrote this a fourth grader? Either way for $2500 you could get a much better system, probably even one sporting an SLI version of the same gpu.

That's already been released in Australia...

Except our version only has DDR2 and a 640GB HDD.

The australian version's screen resolution is 1366 x 768. Some sites I've seen DDR3 ram and others DDR2. I think it's DDR2. The new G60vx for north america could have DDR3.

You can get the bluray player as well but I'd really prefer a 1080p screen for that.

I think it remains to be seen what the north american g60 will truly be packing. There's been no official info out yet as far as I know.

My guess that compared to the g51vx the only differences will be the 16" screen size, the white lid with no side-lights, a bluray player, maybe the hard drives and possibly DDR3 ram. That could really boost the price. If so, then I feel I made a good decision getting the g51vx. Although I do actually like the white lid but this one is still great,

Argh! sorry for the double post! What did I hit? :\

You can delete one of your posts if you want.

Yeah, the Australian version only has a 1366 x 768 screen, as far as I know, but some sites have listed 1920 x 1080. Maybe they want to trick people into buying it?

Anyway, I'm probably going to get a G71 soon, so it won't matter to me any more.
