My new laptop that I received yesterday is having some serious performance issues when it comes to gaming.

Virtually all of my installed games, most notably Half-Life 2, encounter very inconsistent framerates about 15-20 minutes after the game has been started up.

I talked with Asus and they suggested that I update my video drivers, which I did and to no avail.

I've provided a video displaying what exactly I'm talking about, please take the time to watch it:

Thank you for any feedback or insight you may have towards resolving this issue.

    Dox's NVidia drivers ( v185.85)

It took care of all my framerate/performance issues.

I'm interested in trying it out, but what exactly is it? And what is it about it that fixes the problems I've been having?

tried it out, didn't seem to do much good.... :-\ oh well... guess I'll try a system restore and if that doesn't work, sendin' it into Asus for a replacement. *sigh*

The beeping you are hearing is the PC speaker making noises because your computer is momentarily locking up and then returning control. You might also consider purchasing a notebook cooler for the laptop. The one I use is in my signature.

Could be a heat problem...undervolt that sucker.

And ren3g7ade, does the G71 even support 12GB? If not, then how did you get that much in yours?
