The wifi works great but the wimax part has an unknown usb and i reformatted reinstalled tried different drivers fro intel and from ibm and asus and cant get it to work, when i did get the wimax to show it would say not ready, it showed in device manager, but does not now no function driver that is....

I have also replace intel 5100 by 5350 on my M50VM some time ago.

For me verything seems to be working and no unknow devices in the device manager. I have intalled the latest WiMax and WiFi drivers from intel website.

WiFi is used intensively by me, but I cannot test WiMax beacuse there is no WiMax network so far in my area.

By the way which card was built into your notebook before?
The 5350 needs three antenna connections. Did you have them already in your notebook?
In mine 5100 was connected to two antennas and fortunately there was already another antenna built in and whose cable was left unconnected next to the wireless card slot.
