Could someone recommend a good cooling pad (or are they really even necessary?) And most importantly, I'm having trouble finding something to carry and transport the computer in because it's so large. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Well, when i had the G71 (got stolen :( ) i used a NXZT CRYO LX, while its big and it will fit fine a G72, its foldable, but i wouldnt say its really portable still, but i needed a 2nd backpack to take mouse+nostromo+headphones+mic+mouse pad, etc, so i didnt mind the size. Check Da1writer's Asus G71GX-RX05 Full Review (Best Buy), he also owns a CRYO and has tons of tests in the review for you to see if its worth it or not.
