    Is this possible - mod upgrade to 6990 - have seen posts related to 6970....?

    You are asking about G73JH? I didnt seen any G73HR ever.
    Yes it is possible but since 6970m/6990m have big failure rate dont think its worth risk.
    Better try with 7970m better chances of success and more performance. BTW I just got nvidia 770m working in G73jh. Not completely trouble free but working atleast.
