I recently picked up an Asus UL80VT that has hybrid graphics (intel 4500 and Nvidia G210M) and have noticed that after putting the PC into hibernate and restoring it the brightness adjust via function buttons does not work at all. This is only the case when using the integrated graphics. Hibernating when on nvidia graphics causes no problems. Have also found that when on integrated graphics after hibernation (brightness adjust broken) and switching to discrete graphics causes the brightness adjust to immediately work again. It keeps working if I then switch back to integrated graphics.

Anyone else experience anything similar or have any thoughts to try?

YES! I have the exact same issue. I spent the day reinstalling and rebooting over all the hotkey software and video drivers.

My guess is it's a bug with the nvidia driver.

On mine, after resuming the hotkey OSD still reports the buttons as pressed and the slider moves as if the brightness is being adjusted, but it isn't. However, if I go into any windows app that changes the brightness it still works.

It's extremely annoying and hopefully will be resolved in driver updates.

    *oh*

I just tried enabling hybrid sleep. It worked for three sleep cycles then went back to normal.
i also find going into nvidia mode and reinstalling the drivers might make it work for a little while.
sigh, i know two other people who have UL50VTs and dont have this issue.
