Hi All,
I RMA'ed my laptop and it was sent to Asus Indy. Now, like a normal consumer, I thought this was a repair facility ran by Asus, and they'd take care of me similar to the facility in California has in the past.
However, it's now been a month since I've RMA'ed and I havn't heard a single word. Everytime I check for status it's the same, and when I call the people hear the same thing. So, I decided to dig a little deeper.
The truth is, "Asus Indy" is really a cover for a company called Pegatron Technology Service Inc
Now, fortunatly, this company actually holds and "A" at the BBB.
So why am I posting this?
Well, I havn't been able to figure out what, when, where, or why my laptop repair is taking forever and Asus Customer Support hasn't told me anything. So for people in shoes like mine, here's more info you can use to get your laptop repaired and sent back.
Enjoy!

Sorry to hear it's still there, cohowap, but you know I'm not surprised. The main problem is that even the Asus support reps are in the dark as to what's going on, generally, through no fault of their own. When you call to ask one for a status update, they, in turn, have to call those techs to get an answer to pass on to you. And it can the techs an age to reply to Asus reps.

Funny, all the complaints in these forums about the laptop not coming back are from people in California... Perhaps a bad repair center tgere? When I RMA'd mine, it was back in 3 weeks, earlier than expected...

Almost all delays are due to parts not being in stock and having to wait for parts from Taiwan. At least that's what Asus is going tell to their customers.
As for Pegatron, that's an Asus spin-off company created in 2007. It mainly deals with OEM mobos/components. AFAIK, most of the people who are working at Pegatron used to be Asus employees prior to the spin-off. -

Pegatron is a spin off company of Asus.

I've heard of success stories through making complaints with Trinity Sparks (from Asus) recently on these boards. Perhaps you should Google her and find out her contact info

We'll see what happens, eitherway, this process sucks. -
Call the number in my sig, and ask for "Trinity Sparks" and she may speed things up.
