Asus K50IJ Not turning on

Hi,
I did a lot of research before creating a new thread but none seem to help. I have an Asus K501J laptop that is behaving very oddly for the past week. When i turn it on, it turns on but there is no display and it goes for 20 minutes. When i turn it off and on again after 20 minutes then there is display. it also freezes after 20 minutes of work. I went ahead and opened the laptop checked the HD, ram, and CMOS and everything works fine. I am not sure where the problem exist. Any help is appreciated and THANKS in advance for any replies.

Have you tried it on an external display?

 

I did try it on an external screen, still no display. I noticed one more thing today, when powering on the laptop both the caps lock and num lock led's stay on.

 

Try removing the stick of RAM that isn't soldered to the board. You can get the bottom case off by removing 4 screws and sliding the cover off.

If that doesn't fix it, try running memtest86+ or the windows memory diagnostic.
