Hi, I have this problem with my 6 months old laptop. Normally it works all fine, but when I stress it by any intensive game, it will usually shutdown after a while. Then, when I boot up laptop and play again, I can play all day and nothing happens. But when I finish playing, let it be for a while and try it again, sometimes it shutdown again....I just dont get it...Could it be overheating? But why then it will overheats just once? I never completely turn off laptop, I usually just switch to hybernation mode or power saving mode...oh and I'm running Win 7 HP by the way...Can anyone help?

Check and clean the fan intake and radiator vents - they could be blocked or congested.

I presume you play as suggested with the notebook on a hard, flat surface without obstructions over the vents etc?

Cleaning from outside done, no, I'm using cooling pad...I think it could be because of fan, maybe its not capable of cooling CPU enough but when it shutdown and boot up again, fan is cooling at full speed and everything is fine...I tried to speed up fan cycles by bios but there isnt any option for that and programs for fan speed just dont work...My apologies for my horrible english, its not my native language...and thx for reply, by the way...
