    Got this home the other day and noticed white lines that would flicker on and off the right side of the screen at random intervals...

    Downloaded updated drivers but no fix. Returned laptop and exchanged for an exact replacement, same problem!

    Anyone have any luck with these machines? I'm at wits end and about to exchange my second one for a Toshiba...

    Probably bad screen, prob from same batch so not really surprising that 2 were bad. Exchange for Toshiba is a bad idea. If you look under the chassis by the S/N it says "aesthetic design by toshiba" this means "we are too lazy to do anything, so we even outsourced our own Q&A and R&D departments" I would go with HP or Sony. Consider this instead
