    Dear

the mentioned laptop had a problem with the orginal charger, as this was not working anymore. from then two different charger were used, but for some kind of reason the owners laptop is saying they all stopped working.

Now the fourth charger. the shop where he bought the adapter told him it will fit . he came home and forced the charger to get in the power jack (so stupid but he didn't know).

after a period of time, the laptop stops working. I opened the laptop to see if the power jack was broken, but it seems ok, so I used a pincer to turn out the piece that was in the power jack. the plastic of this peace seems to be melted a little bit.

I assembled back the laptop and tried with only the battery as I had nog charger. the power led goes on, but nothing happens.

I left it a night without battery. Next day I start the laptop and it boots up normally. the mousepad wasn't working. Maybe I forget to connect the cable, so I closed the laptop and connected the cable (was not good connected).

I restart the laptop: same thing happen: power led is on but nothing happens.

could this be a motherboard failure?

Very possible. This system sounds a bit abused, even if it was accidental. Usually when the fans don't spin and you have no POST, this means board failure.

Fan doesn't spin only in the beginning, then it starts spinning. But no post is done, screen stays black.

I even bought a charger and the battery led is only on if I press down the cable near to the powerjack .

So it's done for this laptop...
