Hello guys! I just signed in yesterday and I am new to this site. I just wanna ask if the mainstream Asus K series will come in 14 inch and Kepler GPU(preferably GT640m) and longer battery life this coming June or July? Because I am planning to buy one soon. I saw a video review of Asus K55 on youtube but it is not impressive with the same specs as its predecessor except for the Ivy Bridge. Is that the real thing or should I wait a little bit longer?

Thank you very much! Any replies is appreciated.

The K series will come in 15.6 and 17.3 models, like they always have. As for the gpu, the chances of seeing a 640m are pretty slim. The 640m is a little too good for mainstream notebooks. That's why manufactures choose rebranded mid range gpus to keep the price/performance the way it should be.

Thanks Stormyy thats quite dissapointing... I think I look somewhere else. Alright maybe I expect so much with their laptops. But I think that's the way it is...

IIRC, ASUS will also release a 14" variant of the K series, the K45. It will come with an Nvidia GT630M GPU though.

@Howitzer225 I see, but isn't that Asus is clearing their stocks of the old chips that is why they keep on throwing old stuff on their new releases? I hope the specs for K series and N series 14 inchers will change on July I hope it gets better soon. But if that's the way it is for the manufacturers I can't do nothing about it anyway but instead look somewhere else.

It's the same with every manufacturer out there. Everyone's waiting for June for a slew of announcements for new laptops when the rest of the Ivy Bridge line is released. The K and N series already have decent specs for their category: 630M for the K and 650/630M for the N series.

Are the GT650m especially the GT630m under kepler architecture?
