Earlier I posted by mistake in the Hardware section of this forum a similar question and since I noticed now that there is an Asus section, I post again
I opened the case of my 5 months old Asus K750J and noticed the MB is marked as X 750 FOR JN. What is the difference between the two?
Anyone here has done any mods to a K750J laptop? I plan to increase the RAM to 16GB and possibly add a SSD and looking for compatible hardware
Thanks

The suffix at the end of the model typically denotes either a difference in the hardware configuration and/or the region the laptop is sold in. I did not see a K750J on Asus' site, only the JN model and other Jx variants. The motherboards in these cases are usually very similar, if not identical.
As long as you have a SATA port, you can outfit the laptop with just about any SSD. RAM capacity can be a little more opaque, but the JN model supports up to 16 GB, so I am guessing yours will also. -
I’m surprised with the model numbering system Asus is using, wherever I search for parts K750J does not exist. Actually my model is K750JN (from the sticker next to the keyboard but the MB is marked X750J and Windows also says X750J in the system info.
I got now installed a SSD 128GB and increased my RAM to maximum 16GB
