Now what i have here is a that my "space bar" key is no responding to any software : the key physically feels alright, but it's just no responding (any other key is alright)
Ok so here is what i noticed :
1)I restarted twice, and BOTH times i notice the generic "beep" during the windows loading splashscreen. This leads me to think that it's as if the computer is reading that my a key is being pressed when it shouldn't.
2)Once i pressed on an empty page on Word..and the cursor just kept scrolling as if the spacebar was pressed
3)if I were to move my mouse the the system tray in the bottom left corner, it'd keep flickering (quickly maximizing and minizmiing)
So what are my options, before i start poking around at it i'd like to know a lil bit more ( i have replaced the keyboard several months ago and it's given me no problems until now)
This is a v6va, gotten over the summer

You could take the keyboard out and remove the cable and try to reseat it... if there's an error anywhere that isn't physical, that usually takes care of it.

well i put in my old keyboard: And everything worked out just fine. Thinking that it reset the keyboard, i repluged in my new one (with the faulty space bar) and no luck. I guess it's time to email Asus for a new keyboard ?

old keyboard from the original notebook
I had one replaced 1 month in
Now im' going to (try to) get me 3rd
O yeah ill call tomorrow : seeing as how it's pretty late now. -
argh!! The spacebar WORKS now (which would be great) except for tradeoff now it's as if my FN key was permanantely pressed down ( so U = 4, I =5 ).
Whats even weirder is i still have to manually use the FN key for volume control and LCD brightness toggle. -
That one's an easier fix.... number lock is "on".... Fn+Ins/num LK key (top right by Del key) to toggle "on" and "off".
-
err... you know whats sad : The fact that the keyboard's space bar magicalyl fixed itself and now i wont know what happened. (Yeah i was looking for a numlock but i obviously didnt' look hard enough)

If the computer was off... It could have just been enough to clear out any error...... then again, even if it felt right.. the sensor may not have been getting a signal... you never know. I worry about a lot of things that seem to fix themselves... but this isn't one of them.
