Hi,
I am planning to buy an Asus laptop (v6) soon and was wondering about the way asus ships the laptop. I know the laptop comes with WinXP Pro, but I would like to know:
- How is the drive partitioned?
- Are there any hidden paritions for recovery or AudiDJ?
- Is it possible/easy to install linux or other os without breaking any functionality?
Many thanks, Emilio.

Well on the M6N and M2 that I have there were 2 partitions on startup, one was only a few gig and contained recovery files etc. I ended up deleting the hidden partion on my M6 as I had ghosted my drive thus no longer needed it. The second was one large partion for windows, data etc. However there is and option to set the drive up with two partions when you recover the drive from either the cds or the hdd section, also you can always use a program like partion magic to create as many partions as you like. There have also been a number of linux users on this forum so this shouldn't be a problem, infact some users found that there notebooks ran better with linux then xp (eg A2D + fan issues).
good luck the v6 looks very nice
