Hi, hoping someone may be able to give some advice. I have an Asus A3E laptop. Ive purchased a new battery as my orignal one ran out a couple of years ago (the laptop is about 5 years old). I had to buya compatible one as you cant get opriginals new nowadays.

I ended up having to buy 2. The first charged up ok to 100% but lost all its power over night I think on the 2nd night. I am 100% I didnt leave the computer on stand by etc but for arguments sake lets say I did. But it wouldn't recharge up again. My laptop recognises it and says it is charging but never does.

So the seller sent me another one and although not immediately the exact same thing has happened. When I could have sworn I turned the laptop off right, the next day it had gone down to 0 again. This time it will re-charge but only to 27%.

    What is going on??

    Thanks
    Xenia

It could be a problem with your charging circuit if you have tried a bunch of new batteries and they're all failing. Do you have another AC adapter you could test with? Have you tried resetting your BIOS to user defaults?
