    I really want to buy an Asus laptop over Sony Vaio SZ, but I need the 4+ battery life that SZ has :(

    Can anyone list a few Asus notebooks that have close to 4 or more than 4 hours of battery life? Thank you!
    14.1'' and 13.3'' preferred :)

    I apologize if this is the wrong subforum for this topic.

    Well I have the W3J I get about 3-3.5hrs main battery and it also has a swappable multibay (you can slot out the DVD drive and insert a second HDD or second battery) that second battery gives me an extra 2 hrs, so technically my W3J can last for 5.5 hrs depending on what you are doing. :D

    I believer the Z35 with a 9-cell would be able to deliver that. My Z33 goes for ~6-7 hours with the 9-cell. Since the standard battery on the Z35 is a 6-cell vs my Z33s standard 3-cell, you might even get close to 4 on the stock battery...

    yeah is the sony SZ the model that can switch from dedicated graphics card to integreted GPU? I saw a review of a sony about 5 months ago, that had it, you had to reboot but it added at least 40% more power (I can't remember the exact amount but I do remember thinking it was a lot, more than I would have expected). I dont know why all laptops dont integrate this feature, although you would have to have both and integrated GPU and dedicated GPU might be a bit more expensive, but would be worth it.

    Properly managed, I think many of the non-desktop replacement business notebooks from ASUS can get (close to or even) 4 hours on battery. They are usually designed for (under or) 3.5 hours under normal use, but that can be maximized by:
    - undervolting (not for core Duos);
    - properly adjusting LCD brightness;
    - turning off wireless and bluetooth where available;
    - keeping CPU (close to or) at the min multiplier.

    Why do I say that? I can get my M6Ne to last 4:15 mins. My V6J lasts for 4 hours without problems.

    It also seems to me that Pentium M models have better battery life on average than the newer Core Duo models.

    Eh... LG? I prefer Asus and Sony. Asus can be bought easily in Canada.

    I'll look at Z35 thanks guys!
