I'm looking for a mid-range Asus laptop. Preferably a 14" with an HD 2600 or 8600GT and Centrino branding.

Do all of these $1000-$1500 F8SA/F8SV, etc. series laptops come only with XGA screens (1280x800)? I'd love one with the 1440x900 res. If I had to go up to a 15.4" I'd want 1680x1050 (what I'm running right now).

Thanks again for all of your help!

A matte screen is the toughest requirement. As far as I know currently only the R1E tablet PC has it, and just because it's a tablet. That's a 13.3 WXGA screen, integrated graphics.

Otherwise, other 14.1 inchers are V2S and A8 variants.I don't remember GPU or resolution details.

Are there any Asus laptops with matte type screens and dedicated graphics?

Even lower chances then. Some ASUS business models here in the EU used to have matte screens even when the US matte had dissapeared.

They used to have. :) None have it now. Agreed, my last post is kind of pointless in this case...

The only option I know is the R1E, and it's matte only because the tablet technology cannot be combined with a glossy screen.

Wonderful... well, glossy it is then.
