    Asus Laptop with ELAN Touchpad

    I see that you all had a post regarding this issue back in Dec of 2009. Well the issue still exists. The ELAN touch pad will no disregard the palming altho it has a setting for it or the touches my thumbs make sending the mouse to whereever I last set the pointer. I have gone to disabling (Fun F9) the blasted thing and using it when I need the mouse or an external.
    I thought about downloading Synaptics drivers that they have for their touchpad. Any additional thoughts?

    ..um. I'm not sure what you asked, but the entire "really clever area" thing on the elantech drivers works great. You can basically type while constantly tapping on the pad if the area is set small enough, and you're missing the "enable" spot. Too bad you can't choose the inactivity interval after the keypress, though.
