    Asus Laptops with Led-Backlight??

    Hi all,

    I like the existing Asus laptops except they don't got led-blacklight!
    Anyone know if Asus is comming this summer with powerfull laptop with Led-backlight? else i wil be forced to buy a macbook pro 15inch model.

    Take a look at the M1330 Dell XPS. It has LED screen. Some ultraportables of Fujitsu Siemens also have LED screen, but those are pretty expensive. Beautiful notebooks though!

    There are rumors of the lambo lines will get led backlits and more bling bling.

    As with current lcd screens not all led backlit screens are going to be the same. The mpb has some serious probs right now with yellow casting thats reported on other sites including here.
    I had an opportunity to compare the macpro led backlit screen against the new Sony FZ and ill say wow.
    I challenge you to go compare the two (or others)and then tell me which one gets the wow :p

    mikeymike: that yellow casting is probably some production troubles.. I heard from from people who saw it.. and they where amazed about the led-blacklight of the mbp! your saying Sony FZ got better screen? or mbp ?

    And i am not searching for ultraportable machine ;)
    normal 14 - 17inch notebook with some power in it. and led-backlight!
    need to be play crysis at least!

    i know you were originally inquiring about an asus and im not trying to steer you in the wrong direction but you absolutely gotta do just this lil footwork and compare them.
    I havent been out to any retail stores for quite a while and on Tues i had the opportunity to get to a mall that had both the Sony and mbp led where i could put them side by side.
    One thing i will tell you thou... my G2 walks circles around that led backlit screen :)
    I carry a usb flash on my keychain with a GretagMacbeth and with some simple observations with 2 other buds i was with i will definately say the mbp screen is not as good as it should be. I have yet to see the Asus U1 so id like to compare that screen too.
    The 15" led backlit is definately better (with brighter whites)than the 17" mbp's but my opinion is the mbp's had darkish/foggy screens to begin with.
    Thou the led backlit is better than what mac had prior (comparing mac to mac) it still doesnt come up to what Sonys been doing for past few yrs.
    Do some footwork and see for yourself. The FZ would not be a adequate to play crysis but just look at the screens. An important factor when gaming that i think everyone overlooks.
    If youre looking for 14-17 to play crysis i suggest the Asus G1S or G2S
