I just installed the new Windows Vista Updates along with the Atheros wireless card update that is dated 9/5/09. Right when the new driver for the Atheros card was installed, the adapter will no longer work. I restarted the computer multiple times with no luck. Uninstalled the device and restarted (of course the new driver is installed).
When I click the troubleshoot button when I can't find any network, it says that my switch is turned off which it isn't. I switched it on and off with no luck. The light turns on and off and it pops up on the screen when I turn the switch from on to off - off to on.
Has any one had this problem? How can I fix it? I really need to have my wireless card working.
Thanks

have you also check to see if it's turned in direct console by press FN+F2?

The problem was the Wireless Console 2 software. I installed Wireless Console 3 and it allowed me to turn the wireless and bluetooth on. For some reason, wireless console 2 was showing that both were on which wasn't the case. I had 2 & 3 running at the same time and 3 showed the wireless as off while 2 showed it on. I uninstalled 2 and every thing is working fine now.
If anyone else runs in to the same problem updating the driver, just update to Wireless Console 3.
