Hi guys! First of all, since it is my first post, I want to thank everybody for the immense amount of information this site shares! Awesome!

I'm the owner of an Asus M50SV notebook, and have read all the guides and faqs in the Asus section of the site, but couldn't find the solution to my problem, which is indeed the same reported in the following thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/505110-asus-m50sv-a1-screen-gpu-not-working.html

this thread is closed, so I had to open another one since the owners' lounge is closed too. What I'm asking is: was anybody actually able to solve this issue? I found the same problem reported in many forums and sites, but never actually heard of anyone getting rid of it. I know the most probable cause is GPU failure, but I'd like to know if changing it is a solution before buying it, since they do not come cheap.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction! In any case, thanks again for being one immense source of info :)
