I've had my tasty Asus M50SV for a few months now and just thought i'd throw this question out there to see if others thought it was strange.
I was running CPU-Z (1.49) on it and noticed that the vcore is seemingly way too high. Now this is a 45nm CPU at a fairly medicore 2.5GHz but it is hitting voltages that i've overclocked 65nm Q6600's on...
Whilst it's idle on High Performance mode it will sit on 1.2500v. Now that in itself is stupidly high. The lowest voltage i could get my Q6600 65nm CPU on at 2.4GHz was 1. 040v, stable in Prime95 for 2 hours. So we're comparing a 4 core 65nm desktop CPU to a 2 core 45nm laptop CPU...
That being bad enough, the CPU voltage actually spikes up to 1.325v! This looks to be when the CPU load is removed and the regs are still pumping as it's only for a split second. This on a desktop PC is solved with load-line calibration.
According to Intel, the VID range for these CPU's is 1.062v to 1.150v. According to Coretemp, my CPU's VID is 1.2125v.

Use CPU-Z 1.41 to monitor the Core voltages. The later versions of CPU-Z are bugged.
