I have a few questions about the clean install.

    1) For M50SV, should I install 32-bit Vista or 64-bit Vista? I'm just concerned if there are drivers for 64-bit Vista.

    2) Furthermore, I went on Asus page to download the drivers, but there are SO many in the list. What are the drivers I definitely need & should have to make all the features in the laptop work yet get rid of all the crapware that came with the laptop?

    Thanks!

This is what I did for my clean install

    1) Stick in the recovery disc

    2) Let the process run until it asks that you insert the drivers disc

    3) When this happens restart the computer (I held down the power button)

You now have a clean install of windows on your system

    4) Restart and when you finish booting up, insert the drivers disc and choose which processes/drivers you want.

This was with the laptop in my sig, so some steps may change, but I think they should be the same or very similar.

To answer another question, in order to not install any bloatware, just install the (latest versions of the) drivers, and no utilities.

The only utilities that are needed the ATK-related ones. All the rest can go.

As to 32 vs 64, the download page from support.asus.com should give you the answer...
