I have had this thing since June or July 2008 and have really enjoyed it. I used it while I was moving from Germany back to the states. Today, it spends 98% of the time on a desk with a USB hub hooked up and also an external 22 inch wide screen monitor.

I decided it was time for a change, so I wiped the hard drive, repartitioned, and installed a fresh copy of Vista gain. I was able to clean off even more of the Asus clutter installed from the factory and she is running smooth as ever.

I paid around $1400 when I bought it, and so far it has been a solid investment. I do not imagine this laptop will need upgrading for a good amount of time to come, even for gaming, so long as it is done on lower settings.
