Hi there. I hope there is some users out here that can help me.
I currently have two issues, one large and one smaller.
Lets begin with the large one:
The taskbar. The bar at the bottom where minimized applications and to the right the system tray lives. My problem is simple: In 3 out of 4 startups, it wont work. Its there and the system tray is alive and present. The thing is when I click it anywhere exept the start menu button it goes "ding" and no action is followed. I can of course navigate my way by the ALT-TAB og CTR-ESC, but its really annoying not to be granted any access to the bar. Can someone give me a hint of a solution to my problem?

The other issue is a small buzzing noize I can hear when wearing headphones and the pc is in A/C mode.. What to do?

Id really appriciate any help possible.

    Philip

Problem 1) is definitely software. Have you installed some software right before it started doing that? You could try shutting down using task manager all running applications in turn, and see if you regain access to the task bar. You may be able to isolate the faulty application like that.

It's also possible a Windows component has gone bad. In that case there's always the possibility of a clean install..

Problem 2) seems like interference. Not sure what you could do about it.

The sound bug is not only when im at home. It is also when im in the train, or at work.
Thanks for the tip about shutting down processes. I will try that as soon as possible. I think I have about 100 applications running. Its gotta be about time to do a little spring cleaning :p
Do you think maybe I should consider upgrading to win7? I have an original beta key and everything.
    Phil.

I am not sure about Windows 7 (still on XP myself).

As to the sound problem, do you have any USB devices plugged into ports near the headphone out? If so try moving them to other ports. USB interference happens in some ASUS models. But because buzzing only happens when plugged in, I tend to think it is interference with the power line, which I do not know how could be fixed.
