    Hi guys!
I'm novice in this site but I read more threads and I believe that there are most expert power-user here!
Initially, excuse me for my bad english...

    My problem:
I installed on my Asus M50Vn an Nvidia 9700M GT (original card was 9650M GT ddr2) and I modded the original "M50VAS.212" bios by inserting a 9700m GT vBIOS extracte from Asus G50V bios...
I installed the latest video driver from laptopvideo2go with modified .inf(only this driver is accepted by my system) and the card work fine, games, bench, temp, etc...

The question is THE FAN! when I press the power button the fan start at 100% and never autoregulate her speed...also if the temp are too low...
Via driver it's impossible to edit the fan speed, I tried more sw, but anything can recognize correctly the fan...only Everest recognize a "cpu fan at 5200-5300 rpm" and RivaTuner a "reference fan duty cycle at 100%".

Before I try to assemble a rudimentary PWM fan control with sensor (too difficulty for me!) I try ask you if anyone can help me!!!!
    Is the bios the problem?

thanks to all those that will answer me

    Francesco.

Everest is about the only thing that reads speeds on the G50 either.

On the G50 the video card as well as i believe, maybe the cpu controls the fan speed but when the card hits like 70C it kicks it up a notch.

Power 4 gear modes are having no affect? Like battery mode taking it down a notch? Does sound like an issue with the bios mod u might not have too many options.

    hey guys
the problem with the fan running at 100% because I did little research 'think about it I have a gtx 260m which has high temperature.Ora problems with the fan (of g51vx) in the summer I have not exceeded 88 degrees Celsius. I should have the fan running at max !!!!!! Listen to me also my ex 9700M GT was hot enough to wait and see what the summer temperatures arrive. You have also installed the fan and heatsink G50V??
I apologize to everyone for my English.

mmmmmmm....the fan should be fisically different on G50?

I installed only G50V's heatsink, the fan is original M50...

The G50 can not take a quad. So i do not think the M50 either.

The chipset support it, the bios do not. We talk about bios microcode transplant for a long time. Nothing seems to have worked.

8GB is supported on the G50 so I assume it is on the M50.

and thanks to whoever cleaned up the thread, our posting was necessary but no longer needed.
