Hey all, I've been browsing the forums here and you seem very knowledgeable and helpful, so I figured I'd ask about a problem that was sprung on me today. I've searched as best I can for a repeat post, but couldn't find one, so I hope I'm not repeating anything anyone else has complained about, but here goes:

I've had my M50s for almost two years now, and, naturally, it has bricked. I brought it home today from the office, plugged it in (my battery has been badly in need of replacement [or resetting, which your forums just now taught me about] for some time, now), and bopped the power button, but it didn't turn on. Nothing. It was then that I noticed that the usual signs that it's getting power, like the orange power light on the front, weren't responding whatsoever. I tried a number of things, like putting the battery in, taking the power plug out, making sure that power was coming out of the supply, etc., but all was working as it normally should, just, you know, dead. I can get absolutely no response from it in any way.

I don't really know anything about fixing hardware on my Asus, as I'm more of a desktop hardware guy, but I've tried taking off the bottom to see if I could get at the internal battery in some way, but I'm worried, naturally, at messing anything up, especially if it's something that can be fixed cheaply or even free of cost.

Any ideas on how to fix my bricked laptop?
