    Hello,

I've been working with another member of this community on an issue with my GPU. After some tweaking and fiddling I have updated my GeForce 9500M to a 9650GT.

What prompted the switch was intermittent red pixels on my laptop screen. After the switch everything was fine for a few days but then the red dots started back up again.

See pages 7-8 of this thread

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/521708-asus-m50s-graphics-card-problem-8.html

Reading through several posts I have an inkling it may be the LCD ribbon cable for my laptop or the screen itself. Pressure on the hinge would make the red dots move around, go away or get worse depending on the day.

Does anyone out there have any experience with replacing the LCD ribbon cable and/or the laptop screen itself? Do you know of a good supplier/website where I could order one? Am I even on the right track or could it be something else?

Thank you all for your time and assistance.

I'd see if you can find a part number on it and check ebay. I've had luck with asusparts.eu, the guy who runs that is very nice, though shipping can be expensive (as it's from Sweden I believe).
