    Hi,
I have a question. I have an asus notebok M51VSeries and there is an integrated webcam ( USB2.0 1.3M UVC WebCam) .
Is it possible to zoom with this cam and if it`s possible how can I zoom with that cam?? Is there a zoom function ?

I hope you can unerstand my question and give me an answer.

    Thx

I have never used webcams so I don't know, but if there is a zoom option it should be in the options of the utility you are using to grab the camera image? E.g., LifeFrame?

Yes ! I have LifeFrame and there works a kind of zoom. You can zoom to your face there. But if I chat on ICQ or Skype, there it doesn`t works. :-(

I don't know :( I guess this is something the application should do. If it's not there, it's not there... (it's not like the camera itself has any kind of optical zoom)

The short answer to the original question is no, there is no zoom except inside the Lifeframe software.

The resolution of every webcam in existence is fixed, and Lifeframe's "zoom" is just interpolation of the pixels which will wreck the quality of the image (the same as digital "zoom" on digital cameras).

None of the video conference software out there (AIM, Skype, Sightspeed, etc) does any kind of visual zoom, you can just get closer to the cam.
