Hi, was looking through notebook forum and you have a very nice community here so I thought you could help me :)

    Heres my problem.

An Asus M51Kr I have came with Basic Vista 32 Bit and basically I dislike Vista. So I have decided to install Windows XP SP2. My problem is that I haven't installed it yet because I have not been able to find any of the drivers and I am not going to install it without the drivers. I really don't want to dual boot and I really need your help? Is there a link to the drivers, can you make the driver disc work for xp?

Not only do I need the drivers but I also need the Bluetooth Transfer Wizard (Which My Windows XP doesn't have) I am pretty sure I can get the graphics card drivers because I can just search the manufacturer of the Card but its everything else I am worried about. Can anyone please help me out?

    Thanks
    -Chris

    Hi,

Some of the drivers off the Vista CD will work. Typically:

chipset drivers (INFupdate or smth similar)
ATK utilities and drivers (ATK Generic Function, ATKdrv, ATKHotkey, ATKOSD)
    card reader

GPU: get it off laptopvideo2go.com. Make sure to use the modded inf, and try the Have Disk method, as well as using setup.exe if Have Disk does not work! (personal experience speaking here...)

    For the rest:
I would check the M51Sn install guide:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3298529#post3298529

because probably some (much?) of the hardware is probably the same between the two computers.

For whatever you don't find, try the manufacturers' websites (e.g., Realtek for the audio if it is Realtek HD).

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

I've successfully reinstalled a M51Kr under Win XP Home SP2
I take drivers from the M51e for everything but Chipset, VGA, Ethernet
I also download the VGA drivers from AMD website and force the driver from the HD3400Series to be used and it works fine.
I take the SMBus driver from the AMD-7 series chipset for desktop (Gigabyte MA790X-DS4)
And the Card reader could could be found on asus website too (Laptop>Drivers>Cardreader)

    Hope that will help you.
