    Hi,

I have an Asus M51S that I rolled back to Windows XP. The only problem is that the LAN won't work. I can get wireless, though. Are there any drivers that I need to download, and if so, what are they?

    Thanks

    Nathan

I tried that. I have the driver on my system (apparently), but I couldn't get the LAN to work. Is there another alternative? If this doesn't work, what will I need to do? Will I have to use the restore DVD and reset the computer to its factory settings? I hope not. I really don't want Vista and I don't see why I should be forced to run it.

If you check device manager, what do you see for the wired network adapter?

Also, did the wired network work in Vista before you turned back to XP?

You could also try a Live Linux distro and see if the network card works there, to make sure it's not a hardware problem.
