hi people, there its is my hd3650 overclocked

The temps are counted at 1 run 3dmark06

    Stock and original vbios

    http://www.freewebs.com/etiko/stock.jpg
    (get around 80c degrees)

overclocked with original vbios to 675-425:
    http://www.freewebs.com/etiko/BIOSOCed%20675-425.jpg

in this pic have overclock with F8 hd3650 vbios modded @700-500:

    http://www.freewebs.com/etiko/voltage%201.1.jpg

and there have same overclock @700-500 and undervolting to 0.95 from 1.1:

that´s interesting.. lower idle temperatures with another vbios.. did you by chance compare the 2d clock settings of the F8Va with the bios you had on your M51Va?

am i assuming right that you use MMtool for Amibios to exchange the vbios module? which one is it by the way?

The Ferquencies(MHZ) are same ! Voltages etc...Everything same.
yes i use MMTOOL to exchange the vbios, But it dangerous, and i had a conclusion, The ID Devices in GPU hd3650 are same on all models notebook, like a M70s, m50, m51, and F8va, the only change are a Revision, and date, never ever hd3650 bios have a definied a memory like: 512, 256 etc, so i can put all vbios on mine hd3650, the beter i found are F8va, and i try all bios's ;)

does your notebook also feel cooler or did you notice that the fan started fewer times? otherwise it could also be that they simply "fine-tuned" the sensors to show lower values..

anyway.. i´m kind of interested in trying this out myself.. how is the vbios module named?

well, really fan not work more! is the same, and it no showing lower values, because i wil try everything feel my notebooke more freshy on top but performance down about 12 points on 3dmark06, but in games are same, with lower temps :D,
i try another bios's and gets more hot but same performance

look what you need, and make sure if your id device are same to do you make sure dont have any problems, first do you have extract and next replace:

Yes, i recommend you flashing with a Easyflash when you start notebook press f4 to flash! do not use windows, and download original file bios from your model notebook to made a backups and put this on a folder you know, to if any process running bad, you flash with a backup, AND TO DOWNCLOCK CREAT A LIST WITH OVERCLOCKS ON FOLDER

AND IM WARNING YOU! THIS PROCESS IS DAGEROUS, USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

lol, no my bad what i meant was

    DDR3 GPU's get about 1000 points more stock then a DDR2 GPU in 3dmark06

thats why i was asking whether your card was DDR2 or DDR3

the difference in temperature are some like -2c degrees, maybe -4cdegrees, depends where fans are directed,i mean, if fans are under cpu or gpu, about noise, its like a 60% notebook fan loud, when im playing i dont listen the cool pad only listening the CPU fan loud lol :p

I have the ddr3 version. Overclocked to 750/850 I reach 4707 points; stock I get ~3800... I had to up the voltage for the 3d mode to 1.2v which is the maximum allowed by RBE. At the regular 1.1V my maximum is 700/800 with a score of 4400 pts.

and about your temps? your results are very good, i have noticed, 1 hd3650 gets a -5000ppoints with oc 800-500 but it is ddr2, what is your temps idl and loud?, sorry questions but i have some questions about that, and if i put 1.2v from 1.1 my temps go up? and results?

i get 4400 with 700/500 but my temps while playing 2 hours go up to 99c degrees :S so i need help to know the max safe temp my GPU supports, and benefits of undervolting our overvolting

I've just reached the maximum potential of the card. I feel that it could go higher if I could increase the voltage more but 1.2v is the highest I can go, and I thank that's the maximum available through the mxm port...
770/850 with 4733 points. I'm idling at 56C and the temperature went to 85c according the hwmonitor.

Hey etiko...read this whole thread and got interested in OC'ing.

    Laptop: F8VA-B1 w/ ATI HD 3650 DDR2 1GB VRAM

So...this is how far i got...don't want to try something that might mess my laptop up

    1. extracted the gpu bios with (mmtool)
    2. edit it with (RBE)

    Questions:
-do i ONLY change the clock settings and/or frequency? Are there things i shouldn't change for sure?
-can i replace it back into BIOS with mmtool? or do i use another tool.

    Hello everyone.

I have the same laptop but I'm having fan problems. My fan is working 100% of the time and Speedfan shows around 33ºC for each core.

How are your temperatures? Does your fan stop regularly?
