    Hello,

I bought my Asus M51 about 6 months ago.

I never knew the Power4Gear option was avaible, and it increases my speed by alot.

But the thing is, if I use the entertainment mode or High perfomance mode. My laptop crashes after about an hour or 2. I use my battery saving mode atm since It's the fastest mode I can use with no crashes.

If I crash it's basically that my laptop turns of. My laptop get very hot aswell, almost to the point that I can't type since its too hot.

Anyone else has this problem? Or any way to fix it?

    THanks in advance,

    Eliga

Hi Eliga, and welcome to the forums.

If your notebook automatically turns off after a few hours of use, it's likely an overheating issues. Once your CPU and/or GPU gets to a certain temperature threshold, your system will shut down to prevent damage from the high temps.

One thing I would recommend doing is to open up your notebook and clean out the dust/lint from the fan and heat radiator. Doing so will make your cooling system more efficient and hopefully fix your overheating issue. After cleaning out your system, use a temperature monitoring software such as EVEREST to check how high your CPU/GPU temps run.

If this is not an overheating issue, I'd suggest reinstalling Power4gear. Performing a clean install of your operating system will be the next step if power4gear still doesn't help the issue.
