Hi all, could someone tell me if you can get a 1 gig memory chip for these units. Which would then take the total Ram to 1.25gig. I've seen sites on the .net claiming you can buy I really don't want to waste my money. If possible could someone recommend a vendor.

    Thanks in advance.

The m5n is expandable to 758 only.

It has 256mb that is permanent, then you can upgrade the optional 1 empty slot.

    Does it use Micro-dimms?

    Yes, it uses micro-dimms.

1GB micro-dimms are in the works. The 768mb memory limit is based on the micro-dimms being available in 512mb. Although there is no guarantee, the 1GB modules should work.

First of all... are you looking for M5n or M5a microdimms... there' a difference between ddr333 and ddr3 400 microdimms........ but using ebay as your source to verify they are made is far from reliable.

Damn I hope once 1gb DDR2 Micro-DIMMS come out, I can put one in my Z33A. I was kind of banking on that when I bought it. I don’t need more memory now (768mb), but down the road it would be nice. I think it sucks that theirs 256mb built in and its DDR2-400. Yet, my 512mb Micro-Dimm is DDR2-533..kind of funny I thought. Obviously, it was either a cost or availability issue for Asus not to have built-in DDR2-533.

Infineon still shows them as Q3 2005.
