    Hi,

Anyone know the LCD Part Number of the Asus M6, or there are many types of LCDs for this notebook?

Sorry... forgot something big.. size and resolution.

    1. 14" XGA
    2. 15" XGA
    3. 15" SXGA
    4. 15.4" WXGA
    5. 15.4" SWXGA+

As far as manufacturer's go... I've seen, LG, Hansol and Samsung but I know worldwide there is atleast one other maker they use... but it might be for the 14" screens that we didn't get here in the states.

    Thanks,
    Justin

There are 3 different panels Asus used in the US..... maybe some more abroad. Do you know what you have? Did you break yours and just trying to replace it?

    Thanks,

    It's a 15,4" 1280x800

What happened is that my LCD screen was replaced and this one looks like the coating is too glossy, i can't see true whites with this one, all colors have a grayish feeling, the original one was great, my notebook is still in warranty.

PROPortable, can you give me part numbers and manufacturers of all LCDs made for M6BNE, and you know something about different LCD coatings for this model?

Any way of knowing the part number and manufacturer of the LCD by the Serial Number of my notebook?

    Thanks

If you are interested in the WXGA screen, I have it sitting on my workbench at home. If I can get my experiment to work (upgrading to a wsxga) then I'll be selling it. No dead pixels . . .

If you want the part number, I'll have to look at it when I get home tonight. Its by some Taiwan company - three letters, CAI, CEI, somthing like that.

Humm.. it's certainly not like a glare-type screen.... you're just saying the coating does seem to be a little different, right?

The ONLY WXGA M6 screen we've seen come through here is the LG model..

    Asus part number: 70-N951L4001

    Thanks,
    Justin

Yeah, each screen would have a different part number, but on my side I only see one wxga widescreen make, while I see 3 of the 3:4 screen...

The LG screen isn't bad...... basically it should be all that was used in the states. It's certainly not as bad as what you appear to have now... You can call up Asus and tell them you want a screen by another manufacturer.....

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Hi again.

The company that does the technical support here in Portugal is saying that ASUS changed from manufacturer of LCD model for the M6, it says ASUS does not use anymore the original LCD of my M6 and the LCD that is using right now is the one they put on my portable, the one that sucks.

    Proportable,

Do you know any issue of defective LCDs in Asus M6 notebooks, my LCD was replaced because it flickered (like changing brightness up and down) when the LCD was turning on, and in battery mode that flickering could last forever, in AC mode it would stop for no more than a minute.

Right now i don't have my M6 and don't know it they are going to find a LCD equal to my original or if that LCD was part of a batch of defective LCDs.

I'm getting very very angry with ASUS.

Thank God the company borrowed me a notebook or else i would be out of job.
