Looking for a laptop for a 16 year old girl- mostly internet surfing & games (3D & 2D) and homework- need built in wireless for school yet dial up modem for home - hoping that it will last through the intinal college years - DVD-+RW a must, thin & light, infrared, bluetooth, and S-video a bonus.

Stylish, well built, after sales support & warranty a must.

I am leaning to towards the Asus M6 but the Asus W1N looks interesting how does it compare to the M6 and the S5NE is certainly sleek - but no DVD-+RW option? The Z9 again sleek but not sure about the video card and no DVD-+RW - help..

Any insite would be helpful -suprising a teen means no input from her - and I really need to get something ordered fast - Maggie[?]

I'd say the M6 is the ideal choice... but that just depends on which games she'll play.
If she'll play older, less demanding games, then the S5Ne is great too; it's really light (VERY light) and kind of girly.. since it's white - which means she'll like it.

The W1 is a bit too heavy... but still, a good performer as well. A bit too expensive in my opinion

There you have it: if games are a definite issue, then M6.. if not, S5Ne

Good choice. I have the nonwidescreen M6... works like a charm (except for the stuck pixels... but hey, they can't ALL be perfect [xx(])

If she is going to be watching movies go with the widescreen, it is fantastic, I've got one and I love it.
