Isn't available in the states. What about Canada? Is it possible to order it from somewhere and have it shipped to the US or is that somehow prohibited? Where can it be found?

    Nowhere in North America.

I'm sure you could order one from wherever it was available. Assuming that company is willing to do an overseas order. The shipping cost wouldn't be very fun though.

    old: Sony PCG-GR300P 1.13GHz PIII-M, 512MB
    new: Asus M6Ne 2.00GHz P-M, 2GB

Actually shipping cost isn't that much of an issue, as [I believe] most companies use FedEX or other such services for it.

I live in Iceland, and 'decent' laptops cost a small fortune here [xx(] - so ordering from overseas is almost without exception a very smart choice.

Again, any and all help is most welome c",)

Australia, Europe, and I believe Asia all have the wsxga option. Shipping is my last concern. A bigger issue might be that lappies from Germany for example come with a german keyboard. The German OS is there too but it is no problem at all.
