    Hi:

Have had my Asus M6762NE-UP for 3 weeks, and I love this machine except that Asus Probe reports a CPU temperature of about 85 C. When I put a hand on the laptop it does not feel that hot, but eventually the fan kicks in at about 90 C. Also Asus Probe constantly reports a CPU performance of 100% even though I have chosen the battery saving configuration in Power4Gear (with 33% processor speed).

Are there anybody who knows at what temperature the fan should start and if it is possible to set this temperature lower?

    - Simon

My M6BNe runs at 43C-47C for office and internet tasks. Fan comes on very low at 45C. It comes on medium at 60C. I've never seen the CPU go above 65C yet. I suspect you've got something wrong.

I did try to install the latest bios version (0205). Yesterday it did not have an effect, so I asked you guys, but today my system is running around 40-45 C. Thank you for your replies.

By the way, the bios and probe can be downloaded from http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=M6Ne&Type=Latest

I appear to be having the same problem.
My CPU appears to run around 70 degrees celcius.. and then the fan kicks in around 75 degrees. It goes back down to 69, and then the fan turns off.
I have updated the BIOS, but temperatures remain the same.

    ANy suggestions?
