    Hi there

Lately I've be considering buying a laptop and I've come down to these two laptops, the Asus M6R or the Asus M6A. I guess my main use of a laptop would be software programming and from time to time graphic editing plus some gaming, eg ut2k4 or possibly ut2k3, but nothing like Doom3 or MOHPF, but it'll be nice if I could, but I would have my desktop for that. So basically I need something that is powerful to a certain extent and have a decent performance in graphic with...if possible wireless a/b/g and bluetooth. HDD size is not a problem as I'm deciding to use external HDDs.

So currently I'm stuck at a stage where one is more powerful (the Asus M6A) and have more compatibility eg Centrino 2, DDR2, bluetooth, wireless b/g but lacks in graphic, i really doubt that the Intel 915GM Graphics would do a decent job is gaming areas, plus the one i'm buying comes with Xp home :( . While the other (Asus M6R) not as powerful but more features as in it comes with a DVD+-RW, Ati 9100GP and XP Pro but lacks in performance compared to the Asus M6A.

I've been looking for reviews both these laptops, but couldnt found none, cause the design of laptops is really important to me, eg the I/O inputs and where they are.

Also have thought about MSI Megabook 510C, that seems really good, but it has no bluetooth nor infrade and its almost 3.kgs >_< and the design of the I/O inputs are quite bad, but the whole thing looks nice.

So can anyone give me any suggestions on which laptop I should choose, or suggest on another laptops that I could consder buying, cos I'm some what new to this laptop thing, I'm more of a desktop person, but now I need something portable.

    Thanks

The M6r/a has an integrated video card which will not the best for gaming. Consider the Asus Z71v if available where you are at.

    I agree...
The Z70v would be a much better choice, if you can afford it.
However, if you can't, the Z71v is still a very affordable yet good alternative.

Never heard of these two laptops before and after a little search I can see why. I live down in NZ...and as some will know it, technologies takes forever to reach here. These two are very good laptops, exactly what I was looking for, but sadly no shops in NZ have these. Are there any other recommended laptops similar to these two. As for the gaming part, I wouldnt say it should be too big of deal if I cant play games such as UT2k4, after all I shouldnt just forget about my desktop. So if gaming was taken out, what laptops would you guys recommend?

    Thanks
