    Hi,

I'm considering buying an Asus M6V notebook (same as Z70v I believe), and I'm wondering how the hard drive and optical drive are arranged in the system. As the Intel 915 chipset only has one IDE controller, are both drives connected to this, or is one of them connected to one of the SATA interfaces (via converter)?

If both are connected to the same IDE channel, have anyone had any issues with this while burning DVDs at 8x for example (buffer underrun etc)?

I've heard that some notebooks have had issues with this.

(This will be my first notebook so I've been doing a lot of reading... perhaps too much ;) )

No SATA in the Z70V's. As of Buffer problem on the DVD- no problems. Burns just fine.
