I just got my M70 today and I am totally stoked. I have a Blu-ray drive on the computer and when I put in a Blu-ray disc, it reads it, but it doesn't atually play. I have not found a way to play the movie. Do I have to get some sort of special program? Any help would be great.

Hmm, usually everything you need is shipped with the laptop. Did you get PowerDVD or some other dvd player that's also capable of playing blu-ray discs?
-
u shud have gotten something that can play the disc. hmm thats odd . did u install what they gave u if not go and get a version of powerdvd that plays BD

It came with some thing called Nero. The other discs that came with it are the restore disc and the drivers, that's it.

Nero is for the most part a burning software though. Check if Nero includes a program called "Nero ShowTime" which should function as a media player.
-
You're right, Nero is mainly for making cds and such. I looked for ShowTime, but it wasn't there. Is there anything that I can download from somewhere to play the discs?

I'm not sure, maybe check in the manual or give the store a call where you bought it to check if something in your order was missing.

I just downloaded PowerDVD and I got it to work so I'm happy. I think I'll still call and make sure there wasn't a mix up. I was worried that it actually didn't come with one at all because I ordered the computer that did not come stock with the Blu-ray drive, I was given the option of adding it on. Either way, I'm glad I actually do have it and thank you for your suggestions.

You're welcome!

The DVD program is usually ASUS DVD, which is just a rebranded version of CyberLink PowerDVD. It is on a yellow/orange disk.
I'm not sure VLC is able to handle BlueRays? If so, it's a lightweight alternative. -
where did you buy your M70 from? I'm thinking about buying one too but can't find one with a Blu Ray drive!
