And there you go. It took me a whole day to make this one. Was a pain in the a$$. Nothing worked but i figured it out. Please note. The 4gb of ram is only 3gb because of vista 32bit but the extra gb is not missing its shared with the video for a total of 2gb vram. did someone say that vista sp1 fixes the issue where 4gb becomes only 3gb?

That's nice about the extra unusable GB being given to the GPU. Although I can't imagine it's much help there, either...
Up until now I thought that the new Vista "fix" was just showing the 4GB without actually using more than 3GB/3GB+. -
Since M70 is an entertainment class laptop, that 1Gb was included to improve high definition playback.

in my tests the 4gb and 3gb performed the same in benchmarks. but im sure the extra 1gb can be used for other stuff like vram..even wtih sp1 results were same

and that is probably why it was discontinued. It needs vista 64 not 32. whatever not a big deal

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the one you made the M50 as well.

Yea, I have no idea why in the heck Vista 64 was not put in this model to begin with? And with 4gb? It's not exactly an economy class notebook either. Heck, I was planning on just putting XP on it if I could. Using Vista is such a painful experience anyway, like having your teeth pulled with no anesthesia, IMO. I just want something to run multimedia and video editing (hence the big HDD is nice) primarily and with the ability to quickly run complex mathematical programs (used in buying and selling futures and commodities). Any other suggestions?

Thanks, but I hope you will get the chance to review the G70 in the near future. Come on Asus hurry up and release it!!

Well again i think the issues i had in the review were part of the reason why this was discontinued only to be replaced with almost the same thing in a month or so. They need to get rid of the wired antena. they need to use vista 64. and in all honesty they should have used nvidia instead of ati. the only thing i did not test was the av-in. I assume it works as intended. Other then some minor issue which i think were just oversights (asus does that alot), the notebook is definitely a desktop replacement with a slightly less powerful vga card. The terabyte of storage is a first but i am sure others will follow.
