I purchased an Asus M70V Series Laptop in January 2009. I love the machine.

However, recently I have been getting "Noise" on the display. It initially was just along the top and bottom but recently it is showing up in the middle of the screen as well.

The problem does not occur all of the time. It almost looks like "snow" on a TV.

The issue occurs when I am running on AC Power or Battery and does not seem to be location specific (originally I thought it might be some sort of electrical interference). I have tried capturing the screen when this occurs but it is not showing up in the Print Screen image.

Any thoughts on how to resolve?

    Thanks!

Could you take a picture of the screen while it is happening.

Does it happen just randomly or generally when running a video or playing a game?

    X2P,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I have tried doing a screen capture a couple of times but it is not capturing the interference. The next time it occurs I will try to take a digital photo of the screen.

As for your other question, I have not been able to narrow it down to a particular event or activity that consistently causes the issue.

I am not a gamer so I know that is not the cause. But I did notice it extensively when I was watching a show from FOX VOD. Just to clarify it also occurs when I am just running regular office apps but seemed to be worst when watching video.

This happened to me before and it's most likely a driver issue. Try installing a different driver from laptopvideo2go or nvidia.com
